Harry Maguire needs a top centre back partner to fulfil his potential at Manchester United

A lot of criticisms has been laid on the gauntlet of Manchester United most expensive defender Harry Maguire. Some say he's too immobile, lacks proper responses at vital moments , throws wayward passes and so on.

Yes I concur to the fact that the former leicester man is way below his price tag and can no be bracketed to the likes of Virgil van Dijk or Sergio Ramos but his performances this season cannot be written off totally or labelled a calamity, To be frank with you Harry is still the best and most consistent defender Manchester United has had this season.
His problems has just been down to getting a center back pairing that suits the Wa he plays his football and that has made his seem pretty average. Don't forget that this is the same man that marshalled the England defence with Gary Cahill and John Stones at the FIFA WORLD CUP and took them so close to glory, same man who was so solid with Wes Morgan at Leicester.
Take a look at what happened to Liverpool last weekend. Jurgen Klopp decided to go for a centre back pairing of Van Dijk and error prone Dejan Lovren . They lost their unbeaten status 3-0 away to Watford with Virgil Van Dijk partially responsible for two goals. The importance of Joe Gomez was made very clear for all to see. Even at Real Madrid Sergio Ramos is not the same when he does not play with a quality centre back like Raphael Varane.
All Manchester United need is to get a top centre back like Napoli's' Kalidou Koulibaly, Newcastle's Jermaine Lascelles.... Such defenders can help improve his all round output on the pitch and pave way for him to start paying back the hefty amount that Manchester United invested in him
